Year 3 and 4 Residential to Braeside
Our Year 3 and 4 children embarked on their residential trip to Braeside Education Centre last week. Their adventure began with an afternoon filled with problem-solving activities and the low ropes course. The children worked brilliantly in teams, encouraging one another to overcome obstacles and use their value of courage to overcome fears. After a delicious dinner, the excitement continued with the night line – an activity that involved navigating a roped route through the woods in complete darkness! The following day dawned bright and beautiful as they set off on a scenic walk to the town of Devizes, leading to Drew’s Pond. There, they split into two groups for a natural art session and an engaging river study in the little stream, which included a surprise encounter with Tony the frog!
After a well-earned night’s rest, our final morning was spent learning essential survival skills. The children eagerly built fires, demonstrating patience and perseverance, before using them to cook their well-deserved lunch. Throughout the trip, the children displayed remarkable resilience, grew in independence, and honed their organisational skills. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and willingness to embrace new challenges have made us immensely proud. t was a fitting end to an incredible few days of adventure and learning.
