Last Friday, both Dogmersfield boys and girls played a football league match against Potley Hill. Both games were played in an excellent temperament and the children were a real credit to our school in the way they conducted themselves. Thank you to all the parents who provided transport and support to both teams.
The boys played really well as a team, supporting and encouraging each other. They worked extremely hard against a very well organised and talented team. The final score was 7-0 to Potley Hill. Oliver A was nominated Man of the Match by the opposing team for making some outstanding saves and our team voted Oliver W as their player of the match because ‘he was everywhere’. We are extremely proud of all of the boys who played. They represented the school superbly.
Team: Oliver, Noah, Tom, Ollie, Jack, Henry, James, and Thomas.
The girls played a really competitive and close game with some excellent passing from both teams. Both goalkeepers were called into action but the Dogmersfield girls ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a goal from the player of the match, Beatrix, who was nominated by both teams. There was some strong defensive work against a talented attacking team and the girls played in an excellent spirit.
Team: Kylie (C), Libby, Bonnie, Cerys, Lucie, Annabel, Marcy and Beatrix.
On Tuesday, the cross-country team ran the 3rd league run at Frogmore Senior School on a very muddy and waterlogged field. Both teams ran their hearts out over the 1200m course. The girls’ team came 9th and, for the first time this year, the boys broke into the top 10. Well done to both teams. Marcy, who finished 11th, has qualified for the County run in Basingstoke on 4th March so we wish her well for that run.
